The 2019–20 Liga MX season is the 73rd professional season of Mexico's top-flight football league. The season was originally scheduled to begin on August 10, 2019, with a match between Atlético San Luis and América; however, the match was rescheduled after América were accused of match-fixing. The season is due to conclude on December 2, 2019, with the Clausura champion being determined, along with promotion and relegation among clubs from Liga MX and Ascenso MX.
Teams
A total of 18 teams will compete in the league – the top ten teams from the 2018–19 season, and the four teams relegated from the Ascenso MX at the end of the 2018–19 season. The four Ascenso MX teams are automatically promoted to Liga MX, with the remaining fourteen teams entering a series of play-offs.
